The overall goal is simple – get the highest score by selecting a poker hand with cards that are touching on the top, bottom, or sides. As you complete a hand, the cards above will fall into the gaps, so you can make the next hand even better.
Getting Started:
When the game starts, you will see a 20 card grid. Hit the “Deal” button at the bottom to deal 20 cards from the 52 card deck.
Your goal is to select the best possible poker hand from this grid, BUT all the selected cards have to be either horizontally or vertically adjacent, i.e. touching on the top, bottom, or sides. You can not select non-adjacent cards, i.e. diagonal or not touching another card – that’s not a legal move here.
You can deselect cards by tapping a selected card, but remember that you can not deselect a card that would break the adjacency rules.
As you select cards, you will see the score for the hand you are building shown above the five card hand below.
When you have filled your hand, you can hit the submit button, and several things will happen. First, the score for your hand will be added to the game score under the banner. Second, the cards you selected will be removed, any cards above will fall down, and any empty columns will be filled from the right, and then new cards will be dealt to fill the blanks.
When there are no more scoring hands, the game is over. Tap the “Finish” button at the bottom to save your game and see your stats.
After you get the groove of finding the best hands available, you can increase your score by planning your hands!
For example, you might choose a lower scoring hand in order to drop cards into place for a much higher scoring hand next time.
And remember, there are tradeoffs to each hand you select and submit. For example, you may see a four of a kind with the 10 card, and though playing this hand is a high scoring hand, it will take away any chance of finding a royal flush later in the game.
